More specifically, raspberry ketone is supposed to help increase the amount of adiponectin in the body, which is a protein that helps keep your metabolism in check and break down the amount of fat currently stored in your body. (2)
According to Oprah’s favorite Dr (Dr Oz) these supplements are supposed to bring about dramatic changes in your body’s appearance. (2)
Even though WebMD.com says that raspberry ketones are generally considered safe (3), be sure to only buy your supplements from a reputable source online.
Especially with all of the fake supplements and auto-billing schemes some companies have resorted to.
Some of people report that raspberry ketones can cause fat cells to shrink (4), while others have claimed to lose as much as 9lbs in 14 days (5) with a proper diet and moderate exercise in addition to the raspberry ketones.
To me, raspberry ketones seem a little far-fetched as I haven’t heard about any real studies done on humans.
The only studies I’ve heard about involved mice.
So for me I’m not going to bother trying them.
